CAC for a Mac is the ability to use a Department of Defense (DoD) common access card (CAC) on Apple Macintosh computers to access Web sites that require DoD certificate authentication. It was written to allow Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) users to access their NMCI e-mail using the NMCI Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) portal. This can make it appear that your certificates are issued by roots other than the DoD Root CA 2 and can prevent access to DoD websites. Configure Chrome and Safari, if necessary Safari and Google Chrome rely on Keychain Access properly recognizing your CAC certificates. Select yes if you are accessing DOD sites that use Java or if you access DOD sites with Firefox. Step 6: Close the Quick Start pop up. Step 7: Click Install Certificates in the top left corner. If you click the drop down next to the red ribbon you should see a green check mark next to the certificates. May 08, 2018 The four certs that we want are named “DoD Root CA” followed by a number (2, 3, 4, or 5). The other certs are intermediate certs; Safari does not need them, so you should delete all of the “DOD EMAIL”, “DOD ID SW”, and “DOD SW” certs. Once you delete those, your list will be much smaller!
